(My daugther and I in the lo'i kalo in Waipio Valley)

Our land or ʻĀina is a most precious gift and we should do our best to mālama (take care) of it.  Mamalani makes a conscious effort to not add to the landfill so we use recycled paper caps and tubes for our packaging.  We print using stone paper, recycled paper and other environmentally friendly materials.  We utilize local farmers and vendors as much as possible.

One crucial plant we are interested in, native to Hawaii is Pia, or Hawaiian Arrowroot, which is a plant that we aspire to start growing again as it has been replaced by GMO-cornstarch.  Our first Pia seeds were planted on December 11th 2012!

GREEN packaging

We use recycled paper tubes and caps because it is most energy efficient and biodegradable.  Here are more facts:

We encourage all of us to continue to utilize recycled, compostable packaging as we believe organic products should be in organic packaging!  We do not need to add to the landfill if we are mindful of our 'aina.
